Frequently Asked Questions on Hostels

Is it compulsory to stay in the university hostel?

Yes. For security and registration compliance, all government universities in Uzbekistan require international students to reside in university-managed hostels for the first academic year. From Year 2 onwards, students can rent apartments in the city with parents' permission.

Are boys and girls housed in the same hostel?

No. Boys and girls are housed in completely separate hostel buildings, or in separate secure wings of the hostel. Girls' wings feature restricted access cards and are managed by female wardens.

What is the curfew time at the student hostels?

For safety, CURFEW is strictly enforced. Curfew timing is usually 8:00 PM or 9:00 PM. Biometric check-in systems record student entry and exit logs, and alerts are sent to on-ground coordinators if curfew rules are violated.

Are laundry facilities available in the hostels?

Yes. Hostels feature common laundry rooms with fully automatic washing machines. Ironing tables and clothes-drying racks are also provided for student convenience.
